LACTIC ACID - This ingredient is naturally occurring in the human body, and it is also commonly found in fermented foods. Lactic acid found in NUORI formulas is produced by complex fermentation processes of natural carbohydrates, and this colorless syrupy liquid belongs to the class of skin renewing ingredients called alpha hydroxy acid (AHAs). Known for its exfoliating properties, the ingredient gently breaks the bonds that hold dead skin cells to the surface. By removing these dead skin cells, lactic acid can therefore prevent breakouts from evolving. Even though lactic acid is considered to be a milder AHA, this ingredient can also help fade post-breakout dark spots. As an added benefit, it is part of skin’s natural moisturizing factor (NMF) and can help make skin feel less dry.
